4 HER Women's Network would like to Highlight:

Ashia B.

Ashia B. is an amazing singer, songwriter, and artist from Prince Georges County, Maryland. She grew up in a middle-class family with her dad, stepmother, and sister. She is also the mother of two beautiful children. Her ministry for music has long been a driving force in her life as she sang in church and throughout her school years; eventually becoming a worship leader and music director at Freedom Temple AME Zion Church in Baltimore, MD. While in Baltimore, Ashia attended Morgan State University and was also a member of its famed choir.

Ashia currently sings with Grammy-nominated Anthony Brown and Group TherAPy. Aside from sharing the prestige of winning multiple Stellar and GMA Dove Awards with Anthony Brown and Group TherAPy, Ashia’s been blessed to work alongside a veritable list of Who’s Who among nationally-recognized gospel recording artists such as Kim Burrell, Kirk Franklin, Jeff Majors, Donnie McClurkin, and Ericka Campbell, to name a few! She has also shared the stage with Patti LaBelle, Tweet, and other R&B greats!

While she has traveled all over the country ministering the gospel and has been seen performing on some of the world’s greatest stages, Ashia is venturing out as an entrepreneur launching Zero Borders LLC. Ashia has now set her sights on the stationary world of book writing! Her debut book: Matters of the Heart: A 30-Day Journal of Healing, Peace, and Faith, is a personal reflection of what it means to be still in and walk by faith in the midst of the highs and lows of all this world has thrown her way.

In Ashia’s 35 years on this planet, she has overcome many obstacles and challenges to become the strong-willed, outgoing, loving, and exuberant personality she is today. Growing up, she struggled to understand and control the many complex emotions that she oftentimes experienced. Through her journey to self-discovery, she found that studying the word of God and writing out her thoughts helped her to better navigate each day. It is her hope that this journal will help others unlock joy, peace, good health, and freedom as they learn to express their inner thoughts while affirming a connection to God and chronicling their experiences along the way.

There are women around the world working tirelessly to make positive influences in the lives of others. These acts of selflessness, courage, and love create a lasting impact on their communities. However, these same acts of kindness are not always highlighted or recognized.

As a result, 4 HER Women’s Network would like to place a spotlight on women who have taken the humanitarian role to better the community. We want to celebrate these women for their acts of service that help, empower and restore. Here’s your opportunity to nominate a woman of excellence, tell her story, and explain how she inspired you.

To nominate a "Highlighting Her" candidate:

Email us at info@4herwomen.org with the subject "Highlighting Her". Please include in the email the story of the phenomenal woman you wish to highlight, along with her bio and contact information.

Thank you!
